In what was a rollercoaster of a season for all of high school football in the area for the 2017-2018 season, here are DCSportsFan.com’s Final Top 10 Power Rankings.

  1. St. John’s College High School (9-2)

After going undefeated in the WCAC for the first time in their history, beating bitter rivals Gonzaga and DeMatha twice each, while boasting one of the toughest schedules in the nation, the Cadets have certainly earned their spot atop of the list.

  1. Gonzaga College High School (8-4)

Making their first championship appearance since 2011, the Eagles had a very strong season with impressive wins and competitive losses led by freshman quarterback Caleb Williams.

  1. Good Counsel (8-3)

First-year head coach Andy Stefanelli led his determined Falcons to several impressive second-half comebacks and hard-fought wins over DeMatha, Gonzaga and Spalding, earning them the third-ranked spot.

    4. Flint Hill (11-0)

The Huskies captured their first ever state title while having a perfect 11-0 season in the process.

    5. DeMatha (6-5)

After a tough season for the Stags who did not repeat as WCAC champions or even qualify for the championship, being below their fellow four WCAC competitors only seemed right.

   6. Landon (8-1)

The Bears had a fantastic 8-1 season that included a shared IAC title with Georgetown Prep. A tough non-conference schedule with impressive wins over Boys Latin and St. Mary's prepared Landon well for a successful IAC campaign.

   7. Georgetown Prep (8-2)

The Little Hoyas had a tremendous IAC season where they split the title with Landon. Their one conference loss was to Landon.

   8. Ballou (9-4)

The Knights had a historic season, winning the Turkey Bowl over a tough HD Woodson and clinching their first ever DCSAA championship.

  1. Friendship Collegiate (8-4)

A solid 8-4 season for the Knights, who played a more difficult non-conference schedule than usual, prepared them well with strong league wins and a championship appearance.

  1. Theodore Roosevelt (11-2)

The Rough Riders finished 11-2 on the year with a DCSAA Class A title to their name as well.
